An historic building in the heart of downtown Longmont with many new updates and old-world charm. The residents are an easy-going mix, who appreciate the historical spirit of the building, and work and/or attend University in the area. Right off the... front steps of the building, you're cheerfully greeted with patrons of the local restaurants, bars, and retail shops. On the weekends you'll often find yourself in the middle of a flea or farmer's market and live music played right out on the sidewalk. Downtown Longmont is the place to be. The oldest water record books that can be found (at the local Longmont History Museum) with this building, on-record, go back to September of 1905, per a chared-from-fire water-records catalog. This building was first referred to as the Hatch Rooming House, named after the building's original owner, D.E. Hatch. However, a few years later, the building was rebranded to the St. Vrain Hotel, since a different building by the same name had burned down in 1879 on Main and 4th St. Hatch also advertised in the Longmont City Directory as being a music Teacher and doing Piano Repair. He was an active member in the community with his local band, made up of mostly horn and stringed instruments. The building now has a new, top-of-the-line, insulated, commercial roof, many re-finished apartments with ceiling fans, stainless steel appliances, a brand new laundry room, on-site storage units, reserved off-street parking spaces, small garden plots, and all the conveniences of down-town living.
